Nursery Hours

Information about Nursery Hours

We offer a total of 30 funded Nursery hours per week, from 8:00 - 15:30, Monday to Thursday, and parents can choose sessions from this. There is no Nursery on a Friday. We have 3 funded sessions each day, as follows:

Early Nursery – From 8:00 - 9:00. Breakfast can be provided if required. If breakfast is taken, there will be a charge of £1 per day. Children do not have to have breakfast if they attend early Nursery, as we know some children may have had breakfast already at home, but please do let us know either way so we can plan (and charge) accordingly.

Morning Nursery – From 9:00 - 12:00/13:00. If children are not attending the afternoon session that day, they can be picked up at 12.00 if they are not having lunch, and at 13:00 if they are staying for lunch.

Afternoon Nursery – From 13:00 - 15:15/15:30. Funded hours run through to 15:30, but children may be picked up at 15:15 if parents prefer, which is the end of the 'normal' school day and the time other children go home.

In addition to our provision of 30 funded hours of education, we can also offer one additional hour of childcare per day, from 15:30 - 16.30, at the cost of £5 for the hour. Children staying for this after-school provision will receive a snack, and the cost of this is included in the £5.00 charge.

You can pay your food and additional childcare bills at the end of each half term (you will be billed accordingly), or you can ‘pay as you go’ on a session-by-session or weekly basis.

Here are some examples of options you might take and the number of hours that entails:

Normal 'school day' from 9:00 - 15:15/15:30 = 6.25 hours/ 6.50 hours

Full funded entitlement day from 8:00 - 15:30 = 7.50 hours

Morning only session from 9:00 - 12:00 = 3 hours (or 4 hours if staying for lunch, until 13:00)

Afternoon session only from 13:00 - 15:15/15:30 = 2.25 hours/ 2.50 hours

Early session plus morning session from 8.00 - 12:00/13:00 = 4 hours (or 5 hours if staying for lunch)

Please be aware that the sessions your child takes must be within their funded weekly allocation, whether that is 15 or 30 hours, and that if you are sharing your provision with another setting, you will need to ensure the sessions you take at Whitley Chapel are no more than the amount of hours you have told us you are allocating to our setting. Children who are only entitled to 15 hours of funded provision may 'buy' additional hours at a cost of £5.00 per hour. The option of buying additional hours is also available to those who are sharing provision and have already 'used up' their funded allocation across both settings. The after-school hour from 15:30 - 16:30 cannot be allocated to any funded hours, as our funded allocation is only between 8:00 and 15:30. Additional hours will be billed at the end of each half term, or you can 'pay as you go', as with food bills.
