Harvest Festival

11th October 2019
We had a fantastic time at our Harvest Festival and lunch on Friday October 11th. It was so good to see so many parents and friends at our Harvest Service in the morning. It was the first time we have done this before our lunch and it was a really special occasion. The ladies from St Helen's Church had decorated the church beautifully and we had a lovely time singing our harvest songs and saying our prayers surrounded by beautiful flowers and produce. It is the first time Early Years have taken part in a service and they showed their pictures and told us about them really confidently. It definitely helps that we have so many actual farmer's children in Early Years, they are experts on the Harvest!
Afterwards we all went back to school for a delicious lunch, cooked and served by the children. Early years had prepared some delicious soup made from the marrows from Miss Harrison's garden, whilst Class 2 had made Chickpea and Chorizo, which is becoming an annual favourite. The bread from Class 1 turned out particularly well this year, and we are thinking of entering the Great British Bake off in future!
Thank you to everyone who came and helped us celebrate the harvest, and also for the donations you made  for the victims of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. Thanks to your generosity we were able to send them £250 towards the appeal.
